I've always had a pull to using charcoal on paper. It's not the easiest medium to work with - it's easily smudged, and once it touches the paper there is no going back or covering it up. But I appreciate it has the ability to create stark contrast of black and white, and also the ability to blend and soften. I love the direct connection from hand to charcoal to paper, and the experience of using my hands to manipulate the lines and edges.
Shipping an original charcoal drawing or oil pastel poses a challenge (again, they smudge easily) so you'll only find options for prints available here. But, if you're deadset on having an original, email info@voelkerart.com to discuss options.
